DiscoBrakes and CarbonCycles Warranty and Returns
Our 12-month Limited Commercial Warranty and voluntary 60-day change-of-mind return policy are additional to, and do not replace, restrict or shorten, mandatory consumer rights.
This page applies to products purchased directly through DiscoBrakes or CarbonCycles. Marketplace orders should normally be handled through the marketplace transaction process. This does not reduce mandatory rights that a marketplace customer has against the applicable seller.

12-month Limited Commercial Warranty
This Limited Commercial Warranty applies worldwide to new bicycle components purchased directly from DiscoBrakes or CarbonCycles by the original retail purchaser or the original recipient where the product was purchased as a gift.
No product registration is required. The warranty lasts for 12 months from the date on which the product is delivered.
It covers manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship that become apparent during the warranty period while the product is used, installed and maintained consistently with its intended purpose, published specifications and supplied instructions.
Where a product page, written offer or advertising supplied before purchase promises a longer warranty or more favorable warranty term, that more favorable promise applies.
For a covered claim, we will, at our reasonable option, repair the affected product; replace it with the same product; replace it with a functionally equivalent product of no lower value; or, where repair or replacement is not reasonably available, refund the price paid for the affected product.
We will obtain your agreement before providing a replacement that is materially different from the product purchased. An accepted remedy is provided without charge for parts or labor. We also cover the reasonable standard carriage costs described under Making a claim.
For consumers in the European Union, legal remedies against the seller for goods that do not conform to the contract are provided free of charge and are not affected by this commercial warranty.
Mandatory rights may provide additional remedies, different choices of remedy or protection lasting longer than 12 months. Those rights remain available regardless of whether a claim falls within this Limited Commercial Warranty.
What the Limited Commercial Warranty does not cover
Components wear at different rates according to component type, installation, maintenance, riding conditions and use. The Limited Commercial Warranty does not cover:
- normal wear and tear or expected consumption of wear materials;
- cosmetic deterioration that does not affect function;
- damage caused by collision, impact, abuse or neglect;
- damage caused by improper installation, adjustment, repair or maintenance;
- use with incompatible components;
- use outside published limits or the stated intended purpose;
- unauthorized modification;
- failure to follow supplied instructions;
- corrosion, chemical contamination or unsuitable storage; or
- damage caused by an external event rather than a manufacturing defect.
An exclusion applies only to the extent that the excluded circumstance caused or materially contributed to the damage or failure. For example, an installation issue does not exclude an unrelated manufacturing defect.
You do not have to use a DiscoBrakes-approved installer or repairer. Damage caused by improper installation, adjustment or repair is not covered, but using an independent mechanic does not itself void the warranty.
Nothing in these exclusions removes liability or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Making a warranty claim
Stop using a component immediately if a suspected defect could affect safety.
Contact Customer Service and provide the order reference or other proof of purchase, a description of the issue, suitable photographs or video where reasonably possible, and information about installation, associated components, maintenance and use where reasonably relevant.
Do not send a product until Customer Service confirms the return address and method. Returning an item to an unconfirmed warehouse or to Singapore may delay the claim.
We may reasonably request further information, photographs, measurements or return of the product for inspection. A claim will be assessed reasonably with regard to the product, reported issue and available evidence.
For an accepted claim, we provide a prepaid standard return method where reasonably available, or reimburse reasonable and evidenced standard return postage agreed with Customer Service. We do not reimburse an unauthorized premium or unusually expensive service where a reasonable standard service was available. We pay the standard delivery cost of a repaired or replacement product, and provide the remedy within a reasonable period and without significant inconvenience.
A decision that an issue is not covered by this warranty does not determine or remove a separate mandatory statutory claim. Faulty, damaged, incorrect, incomplete, missing or undelivered orders are covered by the fault and non-delivery provisions in the Terms and Conditions.
Australian customers
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
To make a claim, use the warranty-provider email details above and provide the information listed under Making a claim. For an accepted claim, we bear the reasonable claim expenses described above. Contact us before incurring unusual, premium or international return expenses so an appropriate method can be agreed.
United States customers
This is a Limited Warranty.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
The warranty is available before purchase through the warranty link associated with applicable product pages.
Change-of-mind returns
A change-of-mind return is separate from a faulty-goods or warranty claim.
First 14 days
A direct-shop customer may cancel without giving a reason at any time after the contract is formed and no later than 14 days after the applicable delivery date. After notifying us, the customer must return the goods within the following 14 days.
No administration or restocking deduction applies during this period. The customer normally bears direct return postage. Outbound-delivery refunds and any diminished-value deduction are calculated under the complete Terms and Conditions and applicable law.
Days 15 to 60
To use the voluntary extended return policy, tell us no later than 60 days after delivery. After we confirm the return address, send the goods within 14 days.
The goods must be unused, unfitted and returned with their original packaging and supplied parts. Original outbound delivery and return postage are not refunded. The stated 5% administration or restocking deduction and applicable minimum deduction apply. Where delivery was advertised as free, an evidenced actual outbound delivery cost may also be deducted as described in the Terms and Conditions.
Returns notified after day 60 and used or fitted goods outside mandatory rights are accepted only at our discretion. See the complete Returns section in the Terms and Conditions before sending an item.
